Keawakapu Beach
- At the southern end of Kihei, where it meets Wailea, lies
Keawakapu Beach. This is both a great walking beach and a
superb swimming beach. This half mile long beach is backed by
private homes, and the surf is usually gentle. To get there,
just follow South Kihei Road south to the end (don't turn left
onto Okalani Drive up the hill). Continue straight to the
parking lot. Facilities include restrooms and an outdoor
shower.
Mokapu Beach
- Located behind the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort, Mokapu
Beach is at the northern end of the Wailea beach walk. This
paved path wanders approximately two miles along the coast
in Wailea, passing all the resort hotels. It's perfect for a
morning walk, or sunset stroll.
Ulua Beach - Adjacent to
Mokapu Beach on the south side, Ulua Beach is a popular spot
for snorkelers and scuba divers. Facilities include a restroom
and an outdoor shower but limited parking, so get there early
as the parking is also used for access to Mokapu Beach.
Wailea Beach
- Situated behind the Grand Wailea Resort and the Four
Seasons Resort, Wailea Beach is a popular crescent shaped
resort beach. All beaches in Maui are public, and you'll
find an access road and parking lot just south of the Grand
Wailea Resort. The beach here is wide and the waters are
usually ideal for swimming.
Polo Beach
- Polo Beach is located behind the Fairmont Kea Lani Resort
and Polo Beach Club at the southern end of Wailea. On the
southern end of the beach walk, this beautiful beach is
usually quieter than the other Wailea beaches. Driving south
on Wailea Alanui Drive (the main north/south road), turn right
onto Kaukahi Street just past the Kea Lani Resort to
find Polo Beach.
